Our sibling awards recognize siblings who have made a significant impact on their family, or has benefited the wider sibling community. The award is presented annually at Ohio SIBS' Gala in Columbus, Ohio.

    The Tom Fish Sibling of the Year award is presented at our yearly Fundraising Gala. This prestigious award recognizes a nominated sibling whose hard work and unwavering commitment to family significantly strengthens outcomes for their sibling or siblings with a disability, as well as those whose accomplishments benefit the sibling community at large.

    This award acknowledges the distinctive insights and experiences that adult siblings bring to the forefront, highlighting their essential contributions in fostering inclusion, empathy, and support within their communities. By celebrating these remarkable individuals, the award not only showcases their accomplishments but also encourages others to embrace their own narratives and advocate for positive change.

    The Empowering Young Voices award celebrates young siblings, aged 18 and younger, who have courageously used their voices to uplift and advocate for their siblings with disabilities or the broader community of individuals with disabilities. Whether it’s through creative projects, community outreach, or simply being a loving support system, these siblings demonstrate that age is not a barrier to making a meaningful difference.

    This award recognizes the unique perspectives and experiences that young siblings bring to the table, emphasizing their vital role in promoting inclusion, understanding, and support.

    By honoring these exceptional young individuals, the award not only shines a light on their achievements but also inspires others to find their voice and take action.
